Resolution authorizing the filing of an application for federal assistance with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for a $1,500,000 Brownfields Economic Development Initiative grant for the South Side Works project.  (Council District 3).

 

Body

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, is hereby authorized to execute and file an Application for Federal Assistance, a program narrative and certifications and assurances required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") for a grant of $1,500,000 under the Brownfields Economic Development Initiative ("BEDI") program for the South Side Works project.

 

Section 2.                     Upon approval by HUD of the application, the Mayor, on behalf of the City, is authorized to execute a grant agreement and any other necessary and appropriate documents required by HUD in connection with the BEDI program, which agreements shall be in a form approved by the City Solicitor.

 

Section 3.                     Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh is hereby designated as the City's agent for administration of the BEDI grant and is authorized to draw down funds directly from HUD.
