Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby recognize and commend King of Kings Baptist Ministries and its members for their constant dedication to provide an up-lifting spiritual voice in the community.

WHEREAS, Sunday, April 2nd, 2006, King of Kings Baptist Ministry will be celebrating their 7th Anniversary entitled, "Founder's Day". Services will be held at Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church at 10:30 A.M. and the afternoon service at St. John Missionary Baptist Church at 5:00 P.M.; and
 
WHEREAS, King of Kings Baptist Ministry was founded in January, 1999 at the home of Reverend and Mrs. L.C. Carter located in Monroeville, PA; and
 
WHEREAS, the first church service was held at the Bloomfield Garfield Community Center. After two months, God opened the door for King of Kings Baptist Ministries to purchase its present location at 5169 Broad Street in Garfield. The building consists of a beautiful sanctuary; a lower auditorium and a functional kitchen. In addition to the building, they have acquired land next to the church for future expansion; and
 
WHEREAS, the original board consisted of Deacon Robert L. Harvin, Sr., Chairman of the Deacon Board and Fellow Deacons,  Melvin Mitchell, Jim Russ, Louis Scott and Richard White. Trustee Marcus Fitzpatrick, Chairman of the Trustee Board and Fellow Trustees, Linda Cannon, Arthur Harris, Doris Harvin, Bill Jackson, Lisa Jackson, Leon Rhodes and Carol Smith. Also including Deaconess Alice Booker, Regina Lee and Carol Scott; and
 
WHEREAS, The Ministry has made astounding improvements including new Chandeliers for the sanctuary, carpeting in the vestibule, a new refrigerator and tile in the kitchen and purchased a new Baby Grand Piano.
