Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby congratulates Eagle Scout Stephen Ciampanelli on his recent achievement and commends him for his accomplishments.

WHEREAS, Stephen Ciampanelli, son of Gary and Kathy Ciampanelli, and a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 66 attained the rank of Eagle Scout and was honored at a ceremony on September 18, 2006 at the Sheraden Community Presbyterian Church; and
 
WHEREAS, Stephen's Eagle Scout Project aided the Crafton Volunteer Fire Department, which was  in the process of pre-planning their responses to commercial structures, by taking photographs of all the structures in the Crafton, Thornburg and Rosslyn Farms neighborhoods; and
 
WHEREAS, the photographs taken show the entire perimeter of each structure in order to help improve the quality of the pre-plans that allow the Fire Department to conduct safer, more efficient operations, therefore minimizing property damage to the businesses, schools and churches; and
 
WHEREAS, Stephen displayed leadership by organizing 25 volunteers to conduct this photo inventory of the structures that provide crucial information to the Crafton Volunteer Fire Department's ability to better serve the businesses, schools and churches in Crafton, Thornburg and Rosslyn Farms; and
 
WHEREAS, only those young men who have been outstanding in scouting, have the esteem of their community and fellow scouts, and serve in a position of responsibility and leadership obtain Eagle Scout status, the highest rank in the boy scouts.
