Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Safety to enter into an Agreement or Agreements with the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency and Operation Better Block for the purpose of receiving and spending grant funds in the amount of TWO MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS ($2,500,000.00) to support the Safe Passages Program, which places community elders in schools to prevent violence.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Safety, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are authorized to enter into an Agreement or Agreements with the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency in order to receive a grant award of TWO MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS ($2,500,000.00). Monies from the grant agreement shall be deposited into the Grants Trust Fund account 2329400437.45505.00.
Section 2. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Safety, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are further authorized to enter into an Agreement, or Contract, or utilize existing Agreements or Contracts, to make all legitimate expenditures required by said Agreement(s) as outlined in Section 1. Said expenditures shall not to exceed of TWO MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS ($2,500,000.00), chargeable to and payable from the appropriate expense account in the Grants Trust Fund job number 2329400437.
