Title

Resolution authorizing the Mayor and Director of Public Safety to accept a donation of original artwork from Artist Burton Morris for the 40^th Anniversary of the Richard S. Caliguiri Great Race.

Body

WHEREAS, each September, the City presents The Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race (“The Great Race”), an annual 10 kilometer foot race, which attracts racers from around the world; and

WHEREAS, Artist Burton Morris has generously donated a gift to the City of the use of his original artwork for The Great Race 40^th Anniversary Logo; and

WHEREAS, Chapter 210 of the City Code requires certain donations to be submitted to City Council for acceptance.

Now therefore, be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1.                     On behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, the Mayor and the Director of Public Safety are authorized to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with Artist Burton Morris to accept a donation of the use of his original artwork for The Great Race 40^th Anniversary Logo to be used on official race participant shirts and for publication of a variety of 40^th Anniversary celebration activities.  The MOU is subject to review by the City Solicitor as to form and substance.
