Title

Communication from City Council to the Zoning Administrator, notifying the Planning Commission of Council’s intent to extend the deadline for Council to hold a public hearing on Council Bill #2021-1913, relating to Affordable Housing Impact Statements.

 

Body

Whereas, on December 7, 2021, the City Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of Council Bill #2021-1913, which would amend the Zoning Code to require the filing of affordable housing impact statements for specified development applications; and,

 

Whereas, Council was required under the Zoning Code to hold a public hearing on the legislation by April 6, 2022; and,

 

Whereas, pursuant to § 922.05.E of the Zoning Code which states, “Where Council fails to render its decision within the period required by this subsection, or fails to hold the required public hearing within one hundred twenty (120) days from the date of the Planning Commission's action, the decision shall be deemed to have been rendered in denial of the application unless the applicant has agreed in writing or on the record to an extension of time.; and,

 

Whereas, Council Bill #2021-1913 was submitted to the Planning Commission on the motion of Councilman Rev. Ricky Burgess, making City Council the applicant in this instance; and,

 

Whereas, Council intends to hold the required public hearing.

 

Be it therefore resolved that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby agree on the record to an extension of time for Council Bill #2021-1913 pursuant to § 922.05.E.
