Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of Finance to enter into an easement agreement or agreements with Columbia Gas of PA/MD Inc./Nisource and Frieda Rohn Living Trust for the installation and maintenance of a gas line through City-owned parcel ID 16-K-17.

WHEREAS, the City (“the Grantor”) is the owner in fee simple of that certain parcel of real property located in the 19th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh, County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, being identified as Parcel Tax ID No. 16-K-17 (Belasco Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15216, Council District 2) (the “Property”); and
WHEREAS, Columbia Gas of PA/MD Inc./Nisource requires an easement over the Property to install a gas line to serve a customer in the vicinity located at 807 Crane Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the owner of the property at 807 Crane Avenue is Frieda Rohn Living Trust; and
WHEREAS, Frieda Rohn Living Trust also requires an easement over the Property to maintain the gas line to be installed by Columbia Gas of PA/MD Inc./Nisource; and
WHEREAS, the City has agreed to grant said easements to Columbia Gas of PA/MD Inc./Nisource and Frieda Rohn Living Trust.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of Finance, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are authorized to enter into an easement agreement or agreements with Columbia Gas of PA/MD Inc./Nisource and Frieda Rohn Living Trust for the installation, use, operation, maintenance, repair, and removal of a gas line through City-owned parcel ID 16-K-17.
Section 2. The easement agreement or agreements shall be in a form and substance approved by the City Solicitor.
Section 3. The area of the Easement is depicted on the drawings that are attached hereto as Exhibit A.
