WHEREAS; this year, the Education Law Center is observing 30 years devoted to maintaining quality and fairness in Pennsylvania's public schools; and
WHEREAS, the Education Law Center in Pittsburgh has made a difference by enforcing the right to access public education services for Pennsylvania's most vulnerable children, including poor children and children with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, the Education Law Center has worked to improve the quality of education services and teacher quality in Pennsylvania's public school system; and
WHEREAS, the Education Law Center has promoted student success and meaningful parent and community involvement in educational reform through the Pennsylania School Reform Network; and
WHEREAS, on September 29, 2005, a benefit on behalf of the Education Law Center will be held at the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, chaired by Allen G. Kukovich, Director of the Southwest Regional Office of the Governor, where the Education Law Center will formally acknowledge parents, committed organizations throughout our community, school reform advocates, and lawyers who have donated their time to education; and
WHEREAS, a Special Professional Recognition Award will then be given to Dr. Inncenzio "Chenzie" Grignano.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh salutes the Education Law Center, Managing Attorney Nancy A. Hubley and Co-Directors Len Rieser, Esq. and Janet Stotland, Esq., the special honorees of the 30th Anniversary Celebration and Dr. Inncenzio Grignano, for being strong advocates for all of Pennsylvania's children.
