Title: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and congratulate Comcast on their sixth Annual Comcast Care Day, and commends Comcast for their concentrated efforts to help with the improvements of our Communities.

WHEREAS, On Saturday, October 7, 2006 Comcast, in partnership with the Urban League of Pittsburgh, celebrates their sixth annual Comcast Care Day; and
 
WHEREAS, local Comcast employees will dedicate their efforts to the memory of the late Mayor Bob O'Connor who inspired the Redd Up campaign; and
 
WHEREAS, Comcast volunteers will paint the gym, hallways and classrooms at the Urban Leagues' Charter School located in the East Liberty section of the city and will clean the sidewalks and landscape around the Robert L. Van Elementary School to make it safe and pleasant everyday for our students; and
 
WHEREAS, last year in the Comcast Three Rivers Region, 600 Comcast employees and family members volunteered their time in various communities and the Salvation Army's Homewood Community Center is a thriving neighborhood resource today, thanks to Comcast volunteers; and
 
WHEREAS, Comcast is committed to improving the quality of life in local communities where our customers and employees live and work and Comcast works with existing local organizations to positively impact each community they serve while using our resources to bring visibility to important local issues.
