WHEREAS, Margaret “Peg” Moore Stouffer, a 1939 graduate of South Hills High School and former resident of Pittsburgh’s Knoxville neighborhood celebrates her 100th birthday on July 22, 2022; and,

WHEREAS, Peg’s dedication and passion for the community is a byproduct of her family’s deep roots in public service in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County dating to the 19th century; and,
WHEREAS, a devoted friend and relative, Peg gave her time and talents to others by crafting and gifting personal jewelry items, regularly attending church services, and sending clippings on many topics to her extended family in Pittsburgh and across the country and,
WHEREAS, Peg’s activities over the years have not waned. She has supported many local institutions and has been recognized twice within her community for her “Commitment and Energy to the Enhancement of Lifestyle at the Concordia Community”; and,
WHEREAS, though Peg is no longer a resident of the city, steadfast are her roots and loyalty for the Knoxville community and the greater Pittsburgh region; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and celebrate Margaret “Peg” Moore Stouffer for her 100th birthday and dedication to the greater Pittsburgh region; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, Friday, July 22nd, 2022, to be “Margaret Moore Stouffer Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
