WHEREAS, accompanied by there advisor Mina Levenson Seniors Zeke Rediker and Karl Nagy along with Juniors Jillian Irwin and Jules Levenson are the students who make up Academic WorldQuest's first place team; and,
WHEREAS, Academic WorldQuest is a national competition conducted over the first weekend in April by the World Affairs Councils of America in Washington D.C.; and,
WHEREAS, the team earned a place in the nationals after winning the regional competition presented by the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh in cooperation with the International Business Center of the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh; and,
WHEREAS, this is the third year for the national competition and each year Allderdice has sent a team to nationals; and,
WHEREAS, two years ago the team placed next to last in the regional competition, vowing that that would never happen again each member was assigned a part of the world to study so combined the globe would be covered; and,
WHEREAS, the national competition is a paper-and-pencil test in which each team gets one minute to answer questions in each of ten rounds. At the end Allderdice scored 93 out of 100.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate the students of Allderdice High School on being the first place winners of the 2005 WorldQuest National Competition; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday May 10, 2005 to be "Team Allderdice Day" here in the City of Pittsburgh.
