Title
Resolution authorizing the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh to submit an Application for Financial Assistance in the amount of $150,000 to Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for the Technology/Enterprise Zone Program.  (Council Districts:  All).
 
Body
Whereas, the Authority wishes to obtain financial assistance from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development ("DCED") in the amount of $150,000 for the Technology-Enterprise Zone Program (the "Program"); and
 
Whereas, the Authority has prepared the DCED Single Application for Assistance, which is available at the Authority's offices; and
 
Whereas, the Authority has indicated in the Application that 2008 Community Development Block Grant funds in the amount of $50,000 and private funds in the amount of $100,000 will be provided by the City of Pittsburgh as the local share of Program costs; and
 
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.      The Authority is hereby authorized to file a Single Application for Assistance with DCED for a grant in the amount of $150,000 in order to provide funding for the Program.
 
Section 2.      Subject to appropriation and City Council approval of the 2008 budget, the City of Pittsburgh will assume the provision of the full local share of Program costs and will reimburse the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the Commonwealth's share of any expenditures found by DCED to be ineligible.
