Title
An Ordinance amending the Pittsburgh Code of Ordinances, Title Nine, Zoning, Article VI, "Development Standards", Chapter 919, "Signs" by allowing wall-mounted business and building names signs subject to size and design regulations but not roof top signs in the "GT" and "DR" Zoning Districts only.

Body
Be it resolved that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1. The designated sections of Title Nine, Zoning, of the Pittsburgh Code, are hereby amended as follows:

919.03.M.5 LNC, UNC,GT,CP, AP and SP-5,
In LNC, UNC, GT, CP, AP and SP-5 districts.

(c) Roof mounted signs and signs attached to a building with a projection above the roof peak or parapet wall which is lower, shall be limited to the name of the building so attached to or the name of the business establishment situated within the building.

(2) [GT] CP and AP Districts
In the [GT] CP and AP zoning districts roof mounted signs and signs attached to a building:
(i) Shall not exceed ten feet in height and have not more than a two foot space between sign and peak or parapet of roof.

919.03.M.7 GT and DR Zoning Districts
In the GT and DR Zoning Districts
[(b)]
(a) [In the GT Zoning District only,] Business and building name signs mounted higher than [forty 40] thirty (30) feet above grade shall [not] face in [a westerly or southeasterly] all directions [between the following compass points (See Figure "A":] but shall not be roof mounted, shall not exceed in face area 40 square feet or two (2) percent of exposed wall area whichever is larger, shall be limited to four (4) per building, and shall be subject to design review and approval by the City Planning Commission.

(i) [For District GT-D: 325 degrees northwest and 120 degrees southeast as measured from a line perpendicular to the face of the sign.
