WHEREAS, The Pittsburgh Young Professionals (PYP) was founded in 1989 and is wholly dedicated to attracting, developing, and retaining the future leaders of the Greater Pittsburgh Region; and,

WHEREAS, PYP’s events include networking and professional development opportunities, they also organize volunteer events for their members; and,
WHEREAS, PYP’s volunteer events include community based clean ups, event officiating at the Special Olympics, meal preparation, service and clean up with Light of Life Rescue Mission and more; and,
WHEREAS, PYP provides an annual financial scholarship for members pursuing a degree in institutions of higher learning across the region; and,
WHEREAS, PYP desires to hold raffles at their various events in order raised funds to support their programming and charitable efforts; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognize the Pittsburgh Young Professionals to be a civic and/or service organization within the context of the Pennsylvania Small Games of Chance Act, as amended.
