Title: WHEREAS, Elizabeth ("Liz") Style was born and raised in the Baltimore area, and earned a Master's Degree in Organizational Psychology, and has worked in non-profit and public service sectors all of her professional life; and,

WHEREAS, Elizabeth ("Liz") Style was born and raised in the Baltimore area, and earned a Master's Degree in Organizational Psychology, and has worked in non-profit and public service sectors all of her professional life; and,

WHEREAS, in 2007, Liz began a career with the City of Pittsburgh, first as a consultant in the Mayor's Office, then continuing as a coordinator for the Department of Justice Weed and Seed Program, combining that work with a deliberative democracy project that gave rise to the Hilltop Alliance; and,

WHEREAS, Liz used her talent, energy, and experience to continue working with and for the City of Pittsburgh - where she revitalized the Block Watch Program and started the Safer Together program for the Department of Public Safety; and,

WHEREAS, during both the Mayor Ravenstahl and Peduto administrations, Liz coordinated the City of Pittsburgh's National Night Out initiative, an annual celebration of community that brings together residents and public safety officials for neighborhood block parties City-wide; and,

WHEREAS, shortly after retiring from the City of Pittsburgh in 2016, she became a founding member of the South Watch committee with the mission to improve the quality of life on the South Side by bringing people and institutions together to identify code violations, advocate for their remediation and monitor the outcomes; and,

WHEREAS, volunteering further, Liz joined the City's Zone 3 Public Safely Council and was elevated to President in 2018; and,

WHEREAS, under her leadership the Council thrived - increasing its initiatives like Picnic with the Police, expanding block watch participation across the Zone, providing K-12 schools with hats and gloves, and adapting detailed agendas and guest speakers to Zoom meetings during the pandemic; and,

WHEREAS, after the pandemic, online and hybrid meetings continued with record attendance and have included Chief of Police Larry Scirotto and Mayor Ed Gainey (who Liz share...
