Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend the 2019 Women of Distinction honorees; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday August 10, 2019, to be "Women of Distinction Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, The Women of Distinction Annual Dinner began in 2006 by the Pennsylvania Baptist State Convention Inc. and the Western Region of the Women’s Ministry, here in Pittsburgh. The Western Region Ministry has a continuing commitment to work tirelessly to improve the spiritual position and condition of women and children; and,

 

WHEREAS, their focus is directed toward missionary, educational, evangelistic and human rights endeavors especially for women and children enmeshed in poverty; and,

 

WHEREAS, the eight representatives that are being honored at the Women of Distinction’s Annual Dinner 2019 are Jeannette Stanton, Anita Walker, Deborah Marshall, Evelena McFarland, Connie Johnson, Myrtle Hardy, Donna Tarpley, and Lula Hortman; and,

 

WHEREAS, these women have a strong commitment and dedication towards the enrichment of their church and community. They are honored for following the doctrine of the Women’s Ministry, which is to be an “Ambassador for Christ” at noted in II Corinthians 5:20; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday August 10, 2019, to be “Women of Distinction Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
