WHEREAS, On Wednesday, March 30, 2005, Reverend Kevin Cooper and the congregation of Mulberry Church will host a Mayor's appreciation Night Honoring Mayor Wilbert Young; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Young has served two full terms as Mayor of Wilkinsburg, raising three million dollars for the community and has made the community a safer place for all by reducing crime; and
WHEREAS, Not only has Mayor Wilbert Young changed his community for the better, he has partnered with the City of Pittsburgh on such initiatives as "City Big League", and Roberto Clemente RBI baseball league, and most recently the East Hills Housing Development ; and.
WHEREAS, Mayor Young is currently working with the City of Pittsburgh to develop a merging of the Fire and Police Departments between the two municipalities; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby recognize and commend Mayor Wilbert Young for his dedication and commitment to the greater community of Wilkinsburg.
