WHEREAS, congratulations to the Elliott West End Athletic Association (EWEAA) Futsal Club for an awesome season; and,

WHEREAS, for the past eleven years, EWEAA’s Futsal teams have played in the annual City of Pittsburgh CitiSports Futsal League; and,
WHEREAS, the EWEAA Futsal Club teams work closely together learning cooperation and sportsmanship. Futsal is a fast-paced game and a great skill developer as it demands quick reflexes and fast thinking; and,
WHEREAS, the partnership between EWEAA Futsal Club and Open Field in the fall of 2023 provided team building, friendly matches and collaboration with coaches, referees and volunteers; and,
WHEREAS, this year, Elliott/West End’s 15u team defended their title again and won the championship on February 20 against Ambassadors 1. The 12u Team, who played an undefeated season, had a great game against the Ambassadors coming in second at the championship on February 29, and the 10U Team, also undefeated for their season, defeated Ambassadors 10U on March 6 bringing home the championship trophy; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate the Elliott West End Athletic Association Futsal Club for a great season and commend them for creating an atmosphere that inspires our youth; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, Tuesday, April 2, 2024 to be “EWEAA Futsal Club Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
