Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Thursday, July 30th, to be "Rich Hoffman Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Rich Hoffman is retiring after forty-one years as a City Foreman, from December 16, 1985 to July 31, 2026; and,

 

WHEREAS, Rich was a foreman at the City garage for 20 years, from 1985 to 2005, before becoming a foreman in the Department of Public Works from 2005 to 2026, working at the heavy equipment division and many maintenance divisions; and,

 

WHEREAS, he was also during this time a Chief Steward for AFSCME Local 2037 from 2011 to 2026, and was a member of the local’s city foreman contact negotiating team 4 different times; and,

 

WHEREAS, Rich is a resident of Highland Park and has also worked as an usher and ticket taker at PPG Paints Arena since 2004, for a total of 22 years; and,

 

WHEREAS, Pittsburgh City Council wishes Rich well in his retirement and thanks him for his 41 years of exemplary service to the City of Pittsburgh;
