WHEREAS, on July 15^th, 2006, Mr. Willie T. Briscoe and Dr. Delphina B. Briscoe will celebrate their 50^th wedding anniversary; and

WHEREAS, during this long and happy marriage, the two have lived, worked, and prayed side by side, gave life to their beloved daughter Solanda, and have served as a shining example of how two people can find great joy together as they strive to make a positive impact for their family and on their community; and

WHEREAS, between them Willie and Delphina Briscoe spent 78 years working to educate the young people of this city, with 38 year and 40 year careers, respectively, with Pittsburgh Public Schools, where they held many positions and had the chance to work for the Board of Education together; and

WHEREAS, the Briscoes have also dedicated themselves to the care of people's spiritual lives as active members of Ebenzer Baptist Church, where Mr. Briscoe has been a Deacon since 1968; and
