Title: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate and commend Homewood A.M.E. Zion Church for hosting, and the entire Allegheny Conference for a week full of spiritual uplift to our community and the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Homewood A.M.E. Zion Church will host the 160th session of the Allegheny Conference, being Tuesday, October 17, 2006 thru Sunday, October 22,2006 where Bishop Nathaniel Jarrett, Jr. will be presiding; and
 
WHEREAS, the Allegheny conference is part of the Mid Atlantic I Episcopal Area of the A.M.E. Zion Church. Rev. Stanley C. Dennison is the host Pastor and presiding Elder of the Braddock District. Rev. Glenn G. Grayson is the Pastor of the Wesley Center A.M.E. Zion church and will host the closing services on Sunday, October 22,2006; and
 
WHEREAS, this year's conference will feature Rev. Dr. William E. Kelly, Pastor of Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church, Washington, DC, speaking on "School of the Prophets." The subject will be on "Congregational and Clergy Burnout." Dr. Kelly has done extensive research and lectures on this subject; and
 
WHEREAS, there will be a welcome reception held on Wednesday evening October 18,2006 immediately after the evening worship service. Over one thousand attendees are expected during the course of the five day event, coming from Ohio, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia.
