Title

Resolution authorizing the Mayor and Director of Finance to enter into a grant agreement with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Community and Economic Development to receive $10,000 for the Community Revitalization Assistance Program and further authorizing an agreement between the City and Community Leaders United for Beechview for $10,000 of said grant amount for the production and mailing costs of a community information and public safety newsletter.  

Body

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1.      The Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a Grant Agreement with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Community and Economic Development to receive $10,000 for the Community Revitalization Assistance Program to be used for the following purposes:

$10,000 to benefit the Beechview neighborhood by assisting with community awareness. To further this initiative, the City is additionally authorized to enter into an agreement with Community Leaders United for Beechview ("CLUB") for $10,000 in order to allow CLUB to fund the production and mailing costs of a community information and public safety newsletter.  

Monies shall be deposited into the Grants Trust Fund: account 480000, fund 2920 2940, organization code 102000, program code 13300 project PR13300, budget year 2007, Office of the Mayor.  The Grant Agreement as well as the agreement between the City and CLUB shall be approved as to form and substance by the City Solicitor.
