Body
WHEREAS, the Corporation for National and Community Service ("CNCS") is a federal agency that engages more than 4 million Americans in service through Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, and the Social Innovation Fund, and leads President Obama's national call to service initiative, United We Serve; and

WHEREAS, CNCS has provided the City with AmeriCorps Volunteers in Service to America ("VISTA") members to work with the Mayor's Office on certain City volunteer projects to strengthen and supplement the City's efforts to address the needs of low income communities over the past few years and has offered to continue the City's AmeriCorps VISTA Program for 2015/2016; and

WHEREAS, CNCS covers the majority of costs for benefits and services for the assigned AmeriCorps VISTA members; however, the City will be responsible for reimbursing CNCS for a limited "cost share" living allowance for one of the assigned positions for the upcoming year; and

WHEREAS, Allies for Children has offered to provide grant monies to the City to cover the cost of one (1) City "cost share" position relating to the Healthy Together Pittsburgh; and

WHEREAS, the City now wishes to receive grant funds from Allies for Children and to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with CNCS to set forth their respective duties and responsibilities towards the continuation and funding of the City's AmeriCorps VISTA Program for 2015/2016.
