WHEREAS, the Youth of the Year program of Boys & Girls Clubs of America recognizes outstanding young people who exhibit academic achievement, leadership, service, and strong moral character, serve as leaders among their peers, and strive to make their communities a better place; and,
WHEREAS, Boys & Girls Clubs organizations across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania work each day to empower young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens; and,
WHEREAS, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania, and Sarah Heinz House are proudly co-hosting the 2026 Pennsylvania Youth of the Year experience in the City of Pittsburgh on April 15 and April 16, welcoming exceptional youth leaders from across the state to participate in this distinguished program and explore all that Pittsburgh has to offer; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh is honored to recognize the following 2026 Pennsylvania Youth of the Year nominees representing Boys & Girls Clubs organizations throughout Pennsylvania: Albert Johnson, Genesis Gonzalez-Rivera, Christian Myrie, Morris Beatty, Izabella Gerner, Karolin Bueno, Ember Mitchell, Ona Mogotsi, Jeremiah Camara, Jasir Stevens, Isaac Usry, and Jayden Washington; and,
WHEREAS, these outstanding young leaders demonstrate resilience, service, integrity, academic dedication, and commitment to strengthening their schools and communities across Pennsylvania and exemplify the best of the Boys & Girls Clubs' mission.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the important work of the Boys & Girls Clubs organization in Pittsburgh, throughout the Commonwealth, and across the nation and celebrate the accomplishments of the Youth of the Year nominees; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare April 16, 2026 to be "Boys & Girls Clubs' Pennsylvania Youth of the Year Day" in ...
