BODY
WHEREAS, Donald Cerminara and Rose Marie Staine grew up in Pittsburgh in the Italian neighborhoods of the Hill District where they met and were married on July 6, 1954 at St. Peter's Church with a wedding reception in the Aragon Ball Room; and,
WHEREAS, Donald graduated from Central Catholic High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duquesne University and Rose Marie graduated from St. Raphael High School; and,
WHEREAS, Donald and Rose traveled and lived in the South during the time Donald joined the Air Force in 1954; and,
WHEREAS, they returned to Pittsburgh, in the neighborhood of Banksville, to raise their family of three; Daralyn, Donald and Douglas; and,
WHEREAS, the couple have five grandchildren; Tara, Marisa, Dante, Jillian and David and four great-grandchildren; Giovanni, Lila, Sammie, Nora and Sophia; and,
WHEREAS, Donald enjoys Jazz and Golf and both of them enjoy their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate Donald and Rose Cerminara for their 60th Wedding Anniversary; a milestone almost unheard of in this day and age and a testament to their long lasting love and devotion; and,
TITLE
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Friday, September 26, 2014, to be "Donald and Rose Cerminara Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
