Title: WHEREAS, Susie Kiesel is the epitome of volunteerism. Born and raised in Sheraden, she attended Holy Innocents' parochial elementary and high schools. She was a parishioner of Holy Innocents until they closed in 2016, at which time she was a Parishioner at Guardian Angels, and currently at Saint Phillip Catholic Parish; and,

WHEREAS, Susie Kiesel is the epitome of volunteerism. Born and raised in Sheraden, she attended Holy Innocents' parochial elementary and high schools. She was a parishioner of Holy Innocents until they closed in 2016, at which time she was a Parishioner at Guardian Angels, and currently at Saint Phillip Catholic Parish; and,

WHEREAS, when her children were young, she served as a Girl Scout Cookie Mom for ten years, chaperoned numerous overnight/weekend camping trips, and volunteered in the concession stand during Sheraden Youth Football games for eight years while her daughters were cheerleaders; and,

WHEREAS, she served on her children's schools PTO, Thaddeus Stevens Elementary in Elliott, where she served as Treasurer for several years, and the former Langley High School in Sheraden; and,

WHEREAS, after her kids were grown, she still volunteered her time at many activities and community events such as running the kitchen at Canevin Bingo, Kiwanis Club of Sheraden pancake breakfasts and spaghetti dinners, Pittsburgh Magazine events, and ran the concessions at the Joy School of Dance for over ten years, just to name a few; and,

WHEREAS, for 30 years, Susie was involved with the Elliott West End Athletic Association (EWEAA). During those years, she served as Treasurer and Secretary, helped manage and work the amazing Concession Stand, and ordered team uniforms. She volunteered at the annual Halloween parades and numerous sporting tournaments. Susie also set up the Annual Night at the Races Fundraiser for the Athletic Association and acted as the cashier at all the events; and,

WHEREAS, for over forty years, she has been a member of the Sheraden Community Council, where she has served as Treasurer until November 2023. While on the council, she has also been involved in its holiday lights set up, Light Up Night events, Sheraden Community Days, helped organize the litter clean-ups and the annual Sheraden Community Picnic.
