Title
Resolution providing for the City of Pittsburgh's consent to the Public Parking Authority of the City of Pittsburgh authorizing the Riverlife Task Force to enter upon the Monongahela Wharf and make certain improvements thereon, and to assure continued public access to the Monongahela Wharf.
 
Body
Whereas, the Riverlife Task Force has received grants to be used to construct Monongahela Wharf Landing Improvements which will include a pedestrian path adjacent to the Monongahela River.
 
Whereas, the Riverlife Task Force desires "Occupancy Rights", that ensure that it has the right to occupy the Project area for the purpose of constructing the Project and that PENNDOT shall receive assurances of continuing public access to and the right to use the Project via the Pedestrian Path.
Whereas, the Pittsburgh Parking Authority Lease Agreement with the City of Pittsburgh requires  written consent of the City for the Authority to grant easements, licenses, rights of way, and enter into any agreements or other arrangements with other persons with respect to joint use of any part of the Leased Premises.
 
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.      The City hereby authorizes the Authority to grant to Riverlife Task Force the rights to occupy the area of the Project for the duration of project construction and confirms that the public shall have the continuing right to access the Project area upon completion of construction of the Project.
 
Section 2.      The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized and directed to take such action as are reasonably necessary to implement the intent of this resolution.
