WHEREAS, Olivia “Liv” Bennett, member of the Allegheny County Council and beloved community activist, has been awarded the Getting it Done Award from Run for Something in recognition of her outstanding service to the people of Allegheny County; and,

WHEREAS, this award was decided by a nationwide vote with over 2,000 ballots cast; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of Councilwoman Bennett’s tireless work to ensure equitable access to COVID-19 relief and services for Allegheny County’s most marginalized communities; and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Bennett has been a staunch protector of the First Amendment rights of local protesters speaking out against racial injustice and a staunch advocate for criminal justice reform in our community; and
WHEREAS, due to Councilwoman Bennett’s efforts, she won the Getting it Done Award from Run for Something, a national organization that encourages young and diverse people to run for office and become public servants, in a landslide, commanding over 40% of the vote; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate Councilwoman Olivia “Liv” Bennett for receiving the Getting it Done Award from Run for Something, and commends her for her steadfast commitment to the people of our city and for her achievement in gaining national recognition for her outstanding local work.
