Whereas, the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives will be having its 4th Annual Awards and Scholarship Banquet, the theme of which is "An Educated Athlete Will Always be a Champion"; and
Whereas, this event is being held to honor those who have displayed exemplary dedication to the community. The honorees include Detective William Fisher of the Pittsburgh Police Department, Mr. Corey L. Gadson, Head Coach for McKeesport High School Boys Basketball team, Ms. Jennifer Bruce-Scott, Head Coach for Gateway High School Girls Basketball team, and Mr. Tyrone Whinsett, founder and coach of the Homewood Grays baseball team; and
Whereas, NOBLE has proven itself to be a highly competent, public service organization that is at the forefront of providing solutions to law enforcement issues and concerns, as well as an ever-changing needs of our communities; and
Whereas, NOBLE was founded in September 1976 to address crime in urban, low income areas, and since that time as created various programs to reduce crime and aid victims of it, such as the Racial and Religious Violence and Harassment program, the Community Oriented Policing System, and the Victims Assistance Project.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend the work of the Pittsburgh Chapter NOBLE in ensuring equity inn the administration of justice and congratulates all the winners of this years NOBLE excellence awards.
