Title: WHEREAS, the Greater Pittsburgh Aquarium Society, Inc. (GPASI) was started in 1947 to promote the hobby of buying and selling tropical fish; and WHEREAS, GPASI holds mini-auctions and meetings each month for its more than 100 dues-paying members; and WHEREAS, the group organizes two large auctions each year as well, one in the spring and one in the fall; and WHEREAS, GPASI produces a monthly newsletter called Finformation that includes articles from tropical fish experts and lists tropical fish for purchase; and WHEREAS, GPASI is just one of hundreds of Aquarium Society chapters nationwide; and WHEREAS, GPASI will hold its 2007 Fish Spectacular Show from March 23rd to 25th at the Comfort Inn East in Pittsburgh; and WHEREAS, the featured speaker for the event will be Ted Judy, who is a self-proclaimed addicted aquarist with over 25 years in breeding experience; and WHEREAS, this three-day show is open to the public and an awards ceremony recognizing the quality of t...

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh congratulates the Greater Pittsburgh Aquarium Society, Inc., for organizing their Spring 2007 Fish Spectacular Show; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares March 20, 2007, "Greater Pittsburgh Aquarium Society, Inc. Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
