Title
Resolution providing for a resolution authorizing the City of Pittsburgh to enter into a Programmatic Memorandum of Agreement (PMOA) with the Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Officer, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh must abide by Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (as amended through 1992); and
WHEREAS, a Programmatic Memorandum of Agreement (PMOA) with the Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Officer, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development will describe and articulate how the City of Pittsburgh will comply with the requirements of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (as amended through 1992); and
WHEREAS, the implementation of a PMOA will help to expedite the environmental review of federally funded projects;
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. That the City of Pittsburgh is hereby authorized to enter into a Programmatic Memorandum of Agreement (PMOA) with the Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Officer, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development for the purposes of fulfilling and expediting the City's Section 106 responsibilities.
