Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby recognize Reverend Brenda J. Gregg for her invaluable role in this community, in the church and in the global community, and does hereby declare October 18, 2009 to be “Reverend Brenda J. Gregg Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, North Side resident Reverend Brenda J. Gregg of the Greater Allen AME Church has been selected as the 2009 recipient of the Pittsburgh NAACP prestigious Pastor of the Year Award; and
 
WHEREAS, Reverend Gregg is a loving mother of three, a devoted Pastor to the Greater Allen AME Church on the Northside, and an outstanding citizen with many notable achievements and contributions to the City of Pittsburgh and the world; and
 
WHEREAS, Pastor Gregg has 37 years of health care experience and has worked as a Senior Administrator at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, as well as having participated in outreach programs serving Health Clinics outside Kenya, East Africa; and
 
WHEREAS, Reverend Gregg has received numerous awards including the Allegheny County Family Support Lifetime Award, the Delta Outstanding Women Award, the Outstanding Black Female of Pittsburgh Award, the Soujourner Truth Award for outstanding community ministry, and was voted one of the most Influential Women in Pittsburgh by The New Pittsburgh Courier, just to name a few;
