WHEREAS, The Order Italian Sons and Daughters of America sponsors the annual Triad Celebration of the Church, the Family and the Community; and
WHEREAS, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, July 18, 19 and 20, 2004 are this year's dates for the Triad Celebration Honoring our Italian ancestors of the past and our Italian American children of the future with this year's theme being "Libertá, Unitá e Doverí"; and
WHEREAS, Sunday, July 18, 2004 opens the Triad Celebration with a Mass presided over by the Most Reverend Bishop Anthony G. Bosco, followed by a luncheon with the traditional reunion of family and friends and the sharing of memories and stories; and
WHEREAS, Monday, July 19, 2004, is the Community Day when members of The Order Italian Sons and Daughters of America go to a local healthcare facility, this year being Seneca Manor in Verona, and provide an afternoon of entertainment and refreshments for the residents and patients; and
WHEREAS, the Triad Celebration ends on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 with Italian Day at Kennywood Park, a 69 year old tradition that pays tribute to Italian American family values; and
WHEREAS, at Kennywood Park, The Order Italian Sons and Daughters of America takes great pride in hosting 800 to 900 special needs children and providing them with a fun-filled day, including spending money, riding passes and home cooked meals.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby thanks National President Ralph C. Hartford and the Italian Day Triad Committee, Co-Chaired by Western Pennsylvania Vice President Bo Silvio and National Orator Florence Spagnolo of The Order Italian Sons and Daughters of America who make the Triad Celebration and Italian Day at Kennywood an annual event. It is through their hard work and dedication that these Triad celebrations of the Church, the Community and the Family are possible.
