Resolution providing for the execution of a Cooperation Agreement or Agreements with the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh for the performance of certain work in connection with the conversion of the property located at 830 Warrington Avenue in the 18th Ward into the Zone 3 police station and providing for the conveyance of the property to the City for no consideration.  (Council District 3).
 
Body
WHEREAS, Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh ("URA") is the owner of the property formerly known as the Allentown Youth Hostel located at 830 Warrington Avenue, 18th Ward, Block & Lot No. 14-B-332 and an associated parking lot on Arlington Avenue designated as Block & Lot No. 14-B-363 (the "Property"); and
 
WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh wishes to convert the Property to the Zone 3 police station; and
 
WHEREAS, the City wishes to contract with URA for the performance of certain design, inspection, construction and related work on the Property and to accept a deed to the Property;
 
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.      The Mayor and the Directors of the Departments of Public Safety and Public Works are hereby authorized to enter into a cooperation agreement or agreements with URA, in a form approved by the City Solicitor, providing for the performance by URA of certain work in connection with the conversion of the Property into the Zone 3 police station, including, but not limited to, preliminary design and feasibility studies, design development, construction document preparation, architectural, engineering, environmental, appraisal and construction contracts, real estate sales agreements and options, and related necessary or appropriate contracts and work in an amount not to exceed One Million Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,800,000.00).  
 
Section 2.      The appropriate officers of the City are authorized to accept a deed to the Property from URA for no consideration.
