Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.  The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Finance are authorized to submit a Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund grant application, and all of the understandings and assurances contained therein, to the Pennsylvania Office of Commonwealth Libraries for the replacement of the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and roofing systems at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill Branch in an amount not to exceed FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND ($400,000.00) dollars for this stated purpose.

 

Section 2.  The Director of the Department of Finance is designated as the official City representative to act in connection with the application and provide additional information as may be required.

 

Section 3.  The City, as owner of the building housing the Squirrel Hill Branch located at 5801 Forbes Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, ensures the undisturbed use of the facility as a public library for 50 years or the useful life of the project to be funded by the grant, whichever is shorter. CLP-Squirrel Hill has been operating as a public library at this location since 1972.
