WHEREAS, The Community Technical Assistance Center (CTAC) is a nonprofit, corporation committed to developing and strengthening neighborhoods by investing in the volunteer and staff of community-based organizations through training and customized consulting services ; and,
WHEREAS, CTAC provides the foundation for organization leaders to develop the skills required to create and operate effective neighborhood groups, tenant councils, community-based organizations and community development corporations in Southwestern PA; and,
WHEREAS, CTAC's Core Series program consists of a core group of workshops designed to strengthen community-based nonprofit organizations within the realms of Inspiring Leadership, Board Development and Compliance, Planning. Fundraising and Financial Management with instructors from Gatto Associates, CTAC, Pfaffmann+Associates, the Roy A. Hunt Foundation and Bookminders; and,
WHEREAS, CTAC's Core Series, now in its 20th year and with 51 individual community leaders from 29 community organizations participating this year, provides an extensive introduction to managing or working in a nonprofit and with support from the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County Economic Development and other supporters, there is no fee; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend the Community Technical Assistance Center for its dedication and commitment to strengthening neighborhoods and congratulates CTAC for the 20th Anniversary of its Core Series ; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, , that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare April 16, 2013, to be " CTAC CORE SERIES DAY" in the City of Pittsburgh.
