Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of Parks and Recreation on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh to enter into a financial Sponsorship Agreement with Bank of New York Mellon Corporation valued at FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($50,000.00) for the 2026 City of Pittsburgh Independence Day Celebration at no cost to the city.

WHEREAS, each summer, the Office of Special Events within the Department of Parks and Recreation presents the City of Pittsburgh Independence Day Festival, an annual festival in Point State Park which celebrates our Nation’s history and independence, which attracts guests from around the region and tri-state area; and
WHEREAS, Bank of New York Mellon Corporation desires to provide the City with financial sponsorship support for the Independence Day Festival at a value of FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($50,000.00)
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of Parks and Recreation are authorized to enter on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh into a financial sponsorship agreement with Bank of New York Mellon Corporation at FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($50,000.00) or less for the 2026 City of Pittsburgh Independence Day Celebration. As authorized hereunder, the City will provide opportunities for promotion, recognition and other benefits in exchange for support.
Section 2. All financial contributions received under the agreement referenced herein will be deposited into the Special Events Trust Fund 5000731400.48106.00.
Section 3. Said Agreement(s) shall be in a form approved by the City Solicitor.
