Title

Resolution approving the recommendation made by the Director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure that the block stone portions of Valonia, Marena and Uvilla Streets located in Elliott be paved with asphalt in accordance with Section 417.06 of the Pittsburgh Code of Ordinances.

WHEREAS, Pittsburgh City Council enacted Ordinance 42 of 2018, which amended Section 417.06 of the Pittsburgh Code of Ordinances requiring final legislative approval by City Council should the Director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure (“DOMI”) recommend the asphalt paving of a street that is currently brick, block stone, wood, or concrete; and,

 

WHEREAS, Valonia, Marena and Uvilla Streets located in Elliott are currently block stone and the Director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure recommends that such streets have an overlay of asphalt; and,

 

WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh wishes to advance the paving of the block stone streets of Valonia, Marena and Uvilla with an asphalt overlay as recommended by the Director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure; and,

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1. The Director, Department of Mobility and Infrastructure is hereby authorized to pave the block stone portion of Valonia, Marena and Uvilla Streets with an overlay of asphalt pursuant to her recommendation.

 

Section 2. Any Ordinances or Resolutions which are inconsistent with this Resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of the inconsistency.
