Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend New Life Fellowship for forty years of commitment to the spiritual and social needs of residents of the City of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas and to the missions they support; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Friday, October 11, 2013, to be “New Life Fellowship Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, New Life Fellowship located on Lorenz Avenue in Elliott, is celebrating 40 years of ministry October, 2013; and,
 
WHEREAS, New Life Fellowship was founded in 1973 with the name "Greater Pittsburgh Bible Church" meeting in the Masonic Building in Carnegie and in 1977 relocated to the Carnegie Branch of the Andrew Carnegie Library and shortly after the church changed its name to "New Life Fellowship"; and,
 
WHEREAS, in 1989, when the lease with the Carnegie Library was expiring, the church began leasing and eventually purchased the building located at 912 Lorenz Avenue; and,  
 
WHEREAS, in 1981, Mr. Dudley Mays was ordained as Pastor of New Life Fellowship and served 26 years and before he went home to be with the Lord in 2008, was able to see his son Chris Mays take his place as Pastor; and,    
 
WHEREAS, New Life Fellowship serves the City of Pittsburgh in many ways, including a food pantry, clothing ministry and summer West End Street Jams and have relationships with several surrounding churches and are a part of Minister's Fellowship International; and,
 
WHEREAS, in addition to local ministries, New Life Fellowship supports mission outreaches in China, Haiti, India, Kenya, Brazil and Latin America; and,
