Title

Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Chief Urban Affairs Officer of the Bureau of Neighborhood Empowerment to execute relevant agreements to receive grant funding to support the  development of a Communication and Language Access Plan, which will provide a detailed roadmap and a comprehensive implementation process for accessible language integration across city government departments. And further providing for an agreement and expenditures not to exceed fifty thousand ($50,000) dollars for this stated purpose.

 

Body

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh and the Chief Urban Affairs Officer of the Bureau of Neighborhood Empowerment are authorized to execute relevant agreements with the Heinz Foundation in order to receive a grant award of fifty thousand ($50,000) dollars to develop a Communication and Language Access Plan, which will provide a detailed roadmap and a comprehensive implementation process for accessible language integration across city government departments.  Monies from the grant agreement shall be deposited into the Grants Trust Fund account 0229400215.48311.00.

 

Section 2.                     The Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh and the Chief Urban Affairs Officer of the Bureau of Neighborhood Empowerment are further authorized to enter into an Agreement, or Contract, or utilize existing Agreements or Contracts and not to exceed fifty thousand ($50,000) dollars, for  the support of an RFP that will allow the mayor’s office to seek an expert consultant to develop the Communication and Language Access Plan, which will provide a detailed roadmap and a comprehensive implementation process for accessible language integration across city government departments under the terms of the agreement between the City and the Heinz Foundation chargeable to and payable from the Grants Trust Fund account 0229400215.50000.00.
