Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Safety, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh to enter into a Special Activities Agreement with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources for purposes of holding the Junior Great Race and Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race in the area of Point State Park.

WHEREAS the City of Pittsburgh holds the Junior Great Race and Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race partially in Point State Park each year;
WHEREAS Point State Park is under the jurisdiction of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR);
WHEREAS the City of Pittsburgh and DCNR, as authorized by Resolution 57 of 2012, previously entered into a coordination agreement to cooperate as to the maintenance and operation of Point State Park;
WHEREAS, to the extent necessary as provided in that cooperation agreement, the City wishes to enter into a specific Special Activities Agreement with DCNR.
THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as followed:
Section 1: The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Safety, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh are authorized to enter into a Special Activities Agreement with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources for purposes of holding the Junior Great Race and Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race in the area of Point State Park, to the extent required by the cooperation agreement previously entered into by the City of Pittsburgh and DCNR.
