Title

Resolution authorizing and directing the Solicitor of the City of Pittsburgh and the Chief of the Bureau of Building Inspection to draft language which extends to those individuals or entities that purchase tickets for any entertainment venue, including sporting events, for purposes of resale or trade (ticket scalpers) exemption from all city fees or licensing requirements.

 

Body

Be it resolved by the Council of the4 City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts as follows:

 

Section 1.  The Solicitor of the City of Pittsburgh and the Chief of the Bureau of Building Inspection are Authorized and Directed to draft language which extends to those individuals who purchase tickets for any entertainment venue, including sporting events, for purposes of resale or trade (ticket scalpers) exemption from all city fees or licensing requirements.

 

 

Section 2.

 

                     For purposes of this Resolution, "ticket scalper" is defined as an individual or entity that purchases tickets for an entertainment event with the express purpose of reselling or trading those tickets in the immediate vacinity of the event.

 

Section 3.

 

                     The language should be presented to the Council of the City of Pittsburgh not later than twenty-one (21) days from final passage of this Resolution for implementation in calendar year 2001.
