Resolution amending Resolution 571 of 2021 in order to authorize the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, to amend a cooperation agreement or agreements with the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy for maintenance of plantings and other planting related infrastructure in the public rights of way throughout the City of Pittsburgh at no cost to the City.

WHEREAS, many public rights-of-way in the City of Pittsburgh contain planters and green spaces in various locations throughout the City that provide environmental and aesthetic benefits to the public; and
WHEREAS, these green spaces require maintenance and curation to sustain their aesthetic beauty and environmental benefits; and
WHEREAS, since 2022, the WPC and City have been party to an agreement whereby WPC provides these maintenance responsibilities at no cost to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to amend its agreement with WPC in order to expand the scope and reach of the program at no cost to the City.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. Resolution 571 of 2021 is hereby amended as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are authorized to enter into a cooperation agreement or agreements or amendments to agreements with the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy for maintenance of certain plantings and other planting and green related infrastructure in the public rights of way throughout the City of Pittsburgh at no cost to the City.
