WHEREAS, George Westinghouse High School provides education to grades nine through twelve under the administration of Dr. Shemeca Crenshaw; and
WHEREAS, the George Westinghouse Lady Bulldogs Basketball team won the Girls Basketball City League Championship Title by defeating the Schenley Spartans on February 21, 2008; and
WHEREAS, under Coach Phyllis A. Jones and Assistant Coaches Talitha Cox, Dana Morris and Richard McClain, the George Westinghouse Lady Bulldogs had a record of 23-5; and
WHEREAS, the George Westinghouse Lady Bulldogs Basketball Team have all worked hard to become City League Champions and the team was comprised of:

WHEREAS, the George Westinghouse Lady Bulldogs Basketball Team achieved this noteworthy goal through individual commitment, teamwork and discipline; and
WHEREAS, the players, their families and coaches have followed through with the persistence necessary to achieve this goal and win this championship for themselves and their school; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby recognize and commend the George Westinghouse Lady Bulldogs Basketball Team for their hard work and contribution to the City of Pittsburgh.
BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby declare May 27, 2008, "GEORGE WESTINGHOUSE LADY BULLDOGS DAY", in the City of Pittsburgh.
