Resolution authorizing the Mayor to accept on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh a grant from the Fund for Cities of Service, Inc. in the amount of $200,000 to fund a Chief Service Officer who will develop and implement a citywide plan to increase volunteerism and target volunteers to address the City of Pittsburgh's greatest needs.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to accept on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh a Cities of Service Leadership Grant from the Fund for Cities of Service, Inc. in the amount of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars for the purpose of funding a Chief Service Officer who will develop and implement a comprehensive service plan for the City of Pittsburgh. The purpose of the comprehensive service plan is to increase the amount and impact of local service efforts, and to engage citizens in addressing the most critical needs of the City.
Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to transfer salary and fringe benefits, materials purchases, travel reimbursement, and other expenses that are required for the successful hire of a Chief Service Officer and completion of a comprehensive service plan, in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Thousand Dollars, chargeable to and payable from the Grants Trust Fund, Account Number 450500; Fund 2940; Organization 102000; Subclass 600; Project Grant Number PR10055; Budget Year 2010. Said Agreement shall be in a form approved by the City Solicitor and shall contain such other terms and conditions as may be in the best interest of the City and are required by the Fund for Cities of Service, Inc. All payments to be made under this agreement are subject to and contingent upon the receipt by the City of the grant money.
