Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, to enter into an Agreement with the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) for temporary Right of Entry and License at Vanucci Field for the purpose of stormwater improvements at no cost to the City.

WHEREAS, Vanucci Field is located in the Beechview neighborhood, parcel number 16-S-40; and
WHEREAS, this stormwater improvements project will occur entirely within the park boundaries.; and
WHEREAS, the stormwater improvements project proposes the use of stream and floodplain restoration to reduce the sediment loading rates as the Vanucci Field has a stream that is impaired due to urban runoff and siltation from the impacts of stormwater runoff and land use; and
WHEREAS, this stormwater improvements project will be designed with sustainability in mind, along with increasing functionality to reduce sediment loads through the process of reestablishing the waterway and reconnecting the stream to the floodplain; and
WHEREAS, a stormwater facility will also be installed to collect storm water from the existing storm water discharge.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement with the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) for temporary Right of Entry and License at Vanucci Field for the purpose of stormwater improvements at no cost to the City.
Section 2. The Agreement shall be subject to review by the City Solicitor as to form.
