• Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby wishes to congratulate Dress for Success Pittsburgh on its first year of great accomplishments, with hopes for many promising years ahead, as it continues to help women help themselves, so that they might achieve lasting economic and social success.

WHEREAS now in its second year of operation, the Dress for Success Pittsburghorganization seeks to advance the economic and social development of low-income women by encouraging self-sufficiency through career development and employment retention; and

WHEREAS to date, Dress for Success Pittsburgh has assisted 380 Pittsburgh area women through its "Image Boutique" and Professional Women's Group networking and employment retention programs; and

WHEREAS between September 9^th and September 15^th of this year, Dress for Success Pittsburgh will be celebrating its first birthday with a number of local events and clothing drives that are detailed on the organization's website, www.dressforsuccess.org <http://www.dressforsuccess.org>; and

WHEREAS on Wednesday, September 13^th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Bossa Nova in Downtown's Cultural DistrictRestaurant, Dress for Success will be hosting its "Success Celebration 1," a birthday party that will help local women to receive a new start by providing them with a variety of donated items from the organization's "Birthday Wish List;" and   

WHEREAS this event will not only provide a variety of entertainment and networking opportunities for its guests but will also assist a number of local women to successfully accomplish their self-determined career goals.
