Title

Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works to enter into a License and Maintenance Agreement with the Community Alliance of Spring Garden-East Deutschtown (CASGED) for the purpose of maintaining the landscaping installed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) at the trail head between Route 28 and Troy Hill Road.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City owns certain land along PA Route 28 from the Chestnut Street overpass to the Millvale Borough line, in the Twenty- Third (23rd) Ward  of the City of Pittsburgh; and

 

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 748 of 2014 authorizes the City to execute a Maintenance and Ownership Agreement with the PennDOT detailing the ownership and maintenance responsibilities for the PA Route 28 Roadway Improvements (the Project); and 

 

WHEREAS, the City will own the Project, but desires to cooperate with CASGED to maintain landscaping along that route (the “Site); and

 

WHEREAS, the parties now desire to set forth their mutual responsibilities in this regard;

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works are hereby authorized to enter into a license and maintenance agreement with CASGED for the purpose of maintaining the landscaping installed by PennDOT at the trail head between Route 28 and Troy Hill Road.
