WHEREAS, the 2010 Women's Health & Environment Conference is a free conference sponsored by Teresa Heinz, The Heinz Endowment and Magee Women's Hospital of UPMC and
WHEREAS, the event which endeavors to enlighten women on lifestyle choices and creating a healthier environment for our communities, is being held on April 21, 2010 at the David L. Lawrence Convention center; and,
WHEREAS, this day-long event brings together women and the men who care about them from across the state of Pennsylvania in an effort to educate women on the effects of environmental
toxins and other negative exposures that effect women's health; and,
WHEREAS, many dedicated experts, including renowned scientists, writers and activists from around the region and beyond will be in attendance,
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh wishes to highlight this event and encourages all women and men to attend the thought-provoking conference in order to arm themselves with life saving information

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend the efforts of the many dedicated people involved with organizing the event to bring awareness to this life saving issue; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare April 21st to be "WOMEN'S HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT AWARENSS DAY" in the City of Pittsburgh.
