BODY
WHEREAS, Brian Drusky began in the music business in 1995 when owned Landslide Entertainment where he booked and managed local bands and produced records until 1997 when he joined DiCesare Engler and in 2006 created Drusky Entertainment; and,
WHEREAS, known for bringing diverse groups to Pittsburgh, Drusky Entertainment has been voted Pittsburgh Promoter of the Year for 4 years in a row and in 2013 alone has promoted 531 shows in 9 different states; and,
WHEREAS, what Brian Drusky is most proud of is the charity events he organizes to raise money for friends in need and other individuals and organizations such as NBIA Disorders Association with City of Pittsburgh Police Officer Keith Stover where $4,256 was raised and the "Fallen Not Forgotten" concert which raised over $43,000 for the 3 fallen City of Pittsburgh Police Officers; and,
WHEREAS, in addition he has helped raise funds for Project Lifesaver, which benefits seniors with Alzheimer's disease and kids with autism and most recently, he helped produce "Jam for Joey" which benefited an 8 year old Joey Fabus who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Brian Drusky for his commitment to bringing diversity in music to Pittsburgh and for the various charitable events he organizes; and,
TITLE
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Friday, August 29, 2014, to be "Brian Drusky and Drusky Entertainment Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
